Sam is West Australian and began sailing as a teenager on the Swan River, on various water craft including a plywood scow moth, a traditional gaff rigger, a Hobie 14 and also a 24 footer. He moved to Sydney about 30 years ago. He is the owner and Director of Sydney Animal Hospitals, a five veterinary hospital group. 

Sam is also a Director of Cenversa Pty Ltd, a National Veterinary and Pet Wholesale and Drug supply company, and he is a Director of Assistance Dogs Australia, a national charity organisation which provides assistance dogs to disabled, autistic and post-traumatic stress clients.  Sam’s current sailing program is mainly aimed at the Bluewater Point Score and the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

His offshore career started in  2004 with a Cavalier 35;  a Rogers 46;  later a Sydney 39CR (all called “Celestial”) and currently a TP52 “Celestial” which is IRC optimised and modified for off shore conditions, although he does contest many regattas and round the buoy races.

Sam has been a keen CYCA member since 2004 with an interest in all racing conducted by the club.

Arthur is the Managing Director of VMG Capital which is providing strategic corporate advice to a range of corporate, government and charitable organisations. Prior to PsaltGroup SCA, Arthur was head of Nab Group’s strategy for the equity markets.

Arthur has more than 25 years experience in financial services most recently at Nab, Westpac and Macquarie in advising corporates on capital market transactions including capital raising, acquisitions, joint ventures, funds management and divestments. 

Arthur jointly owns Into the Mystic, a Hanse43e and sails regularly in the ocean, short haul and twilight point scores.  Arthur has sailed extensively with Brother Ed on Midnight Rambler competing in 15 Hobart’s including crewing on the overall winner in the 98 Hobart race. 

He devotes considerable time to junior sailing and is the current Secretary of the Ascham Sailing Association and the NSW Teams racing Association. Arthur is the current cruise captain.
