Audit, Planning & Risk

The audit, planning & risk committee focuses on issues relating to the governance of the club, its forward planning and the management of its risks.

The committee’s responsibilities include ensuring the CYCA stays financially viable, ensuring that its policies and procedures are executed correctly and that it complies with the various Government acts it is governed by.

The active tasks of the committee are very important for the club's overall operations. These include preparing contingency plans prior to all major ocean races and regattas, assessing the risks of new events or acquisitions and overseeing the club's financial position.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race is the club's major event and the sailing committee and the audit, planning and risk committee work hand-in-hand with club management year-round to ensure that best practise risk managment procedures are in place for the race.
