22 November - 26 November 2010The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia is proud to announce the Musto International Youth Match Racing Regatta which will be held at the CYCA from Monday 22 November through to Friday 26 November 2010. This is the 9th year of this highly competitive international youth match racing regatta. It is now a well established and internationally recognised event. Competitors will compete for the coveted perpetual 'Joy Ride' trophy, named after Gary McPike's boat. Gary was an International Umpire who provided great support to CYCA youth. The regatta is an extension of the CYCA’s Youth Sailing Academy’s long term policy of developing a high level of sailing skills, knowledge and teamwork in a new generation of young yachtsmen and women. The regatta will be sailed from Rushcutters Bay on Sydney Harbour in the CYCA’s Elliott 6.0 metre keel boats. Built to a very high standard by Sydney Yachts, the fleet of 10 boats ensures that each of the 10 teams will have a boat assigned from a draw every day for training and racing. Coloured spinnakers will be assigned to each team for the duration of the regatta allowing spectators and supporters to easily follow the racing. The courses will be standard match racing windward/leeward configuration. Every team will race each other team twice in the two round-robin format, followed by a semi-final and final series, ensuring a true test of match racing in all conditions. This event has been certified as a Grade 3 event for the ISAF International Match Racing rankings. The regatta is by invitation to crews of 3 or 4, who have not reached their 21st birthday on or before 31 December 2010. The CYCA members and staff have much pleasure in offering accommodation to any invited international or interstate teams during the regatta. The 2010 regatta will be the second annual regatta to be sponsored by Musto. 2009 Results List of Competitors Results Round Robin One Results Round Robin Two Stage Three and Four Results
