The CYCA offers its members and visitors a wide array of sailing formats from which to choose.

Those who enjoy sailing in company to an idyllic location and rafting up with other club members over dinner make up CYCA cruising, a group of club members who regularly meet to hear guest speakers and to plan fun day or weekend trips.

Mount Gay Monday Twilight Series and St Arnou Wednesday Series

If you enjoy social sailing, the Mount Gay Monday Twilight Series (spinnaker) and St. Arnou Wednesday Twilight Series (non-spinnaker) are ideal.

The St. Arnou Wednesday Twilight Series attracts more than 100 yachts each week and is the perfect mid-week break, a twilight sail around Sydney Harbour followed by a prize giving and dinner on the CYCA’s deck during the warm summer months.

Weekend Sailing

Weekend sailing in summer is also available in a number of different formats – Short Ocean Pointscore, Ocean Pointscore and Short Haul Pointscore.

Audi Winter Series

From April to July, the CYCA runs the Audi Winter Series, with fleets regularly reaching 150 every Sunday.  An Audi Winter Series race can be a full day out with a cooked breakfast on the club’s deck to start the day followed by the spinnaker race on Sydney Harbour and then a prize giving and video highlights.

Blue Water Pointscore

For the serious ocean racer, the Blue Water Pointscore offers seven long ocean races over nine months of the year with the highlight being the double points earner – the annual Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

Crewing in races

If you aspire to crewing on a boat in any of these events and you already have sailing experience please contact Roger Wragby at the Sailing Office.

Learn to Sail

If you want to learn to sail but you aren't sure where to start, the CYCA can recommend a highly experienced sailing school located on Club premises. Please contact CYCA reception at reception@cyca.com.au for details.

CYCA Youth Sailing Academy sponsored by Audi Australia

If you are aged between 12-24 years of age, you are eligible to enrol in a CYCA Youth Sailing Academy learn to sail program that will teach you the basic skills of sailing. Contact ysa.admin@cyca.com.au for details of the YSA and its wide range of courses and school holiday programs.
