Helicopter rescue is a risky and dangerous procedure especially when it involves sailing.

Last week CYCA Cruising took part in a helicopter training exercise on the Sydney Harbour on board Tony Kirby's yacht, Patrice.

The exercise was carried out out in order to familiarise members with the problems that can arise when carrying out any type of rescue at sea, especially from a yacht.

The Cruising Committee wish to express their sincere thanks to Tim Sharman, the paramedic who carried out 'the drop' and Tony Kirby for the use of his yacht.
