Gascoigne Cup gets Brannew fired up for Rolex Sydney Hobart

Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race entrant Brannew is looking all fired up for her second race south this year, scoring an impressive IRC win in today’s Gascoigne Cup short ocean race off the Heads.

“It was an ideal day for the Beneteau First 40s, anything over 14 knots and they really go well to windward,” said owner/skipper Chris Bran. “Today we sailed in a 12-17 knot sou’easter…just the thing.”

CYCA Redevelopment Update: Week Commencing 28 October

We are now into the final sprint to the completion of the hardstand.

Last week saw the final southern section of the hardstand prepared for the concrete pour that will take place on Tuesday 29 October 2013 as well as concrete being poured for the crane pedestal on the central section. CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE TIME LAPSE VIDEO

Additional activities planned for this week include the installation of the following;

  • Jib and YSA Davit Crane
  • Power and water service pedestals
  • Fire hoses
  • Sanivac pumpout system

The plan is for the contractors to vacate the site by Friday 1 November returning full access to the northern car park.

The final detail including the installation of the floating pontoons, ladders, vertical fendering, timber deck extension and wheel stops will be commence week beginning 4 November. These activities however will not prevent us from utilising the hardstand.
