LDV Comanche secures line honours and the race record

Sport is often determined by fine margins and yachting is no exception. After a phenomenal contest between Jim Cooney’s LDV Comanche and the Oatley family’s Wild Oats XI over the full 628nm of the Rolex Sydney Hobart concluded yesterday in the Derwent River, the line honours title for first to finish was eventually decided today in the protest room. An incident between the two 100-footers, shortly after the start, was adjudged in favour of LDV Comanche.

Black Jack makes the most of cards dealt

Associates Committee Christmas Hamper

Drawn on Thursday 17 December in the Coasters Retreat at 6:30pm, the Associates Committee Hamper is up for grabs.

Now on display at CYCA Reception, first prize includes vouchers, Christmas goodies and Australian Paralympic Sailing Team gear.

Musto have donated a jacket for second prize with six bottles of Aurelia Sparkling wine donated by Robert Oatley Wines for third prize.

Tickets are on sale at reception and on Thursday evenings at the Members Badge Draw.

All proceeds go to the Australian Paralympic Sailing Team.

It's the hottest ticket in town - but it's FREE to Rolex Sydney Hobart skippers, crews and members of the CYCA.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart crew party is back again and guaranteed to be an enormous hit with music from Jellybean Jam, dancing, a Happy Hour period in specified parts of the CYCA and $15 international food specials.

The party will run from 5pm until 11.30pm, the dress code is crew shirt and non-members and non-crew can also attend for $20 which will be collected on the night by members of the CYCA Associates.

It's a great way to meet and mingle with the crews in the fleet of the 71st Rolex Sydney to Hobart, swap stories and create new sailing mates.

Don't forget to bring your crew pass or CYCA membership card for free entry to the party.
